Eemesne install

I don’t know why but, I just don’t like Pidgin. I decided to get an alternative shown in the title. I have the said program on a different distro install, working fine.

I install it through YaST but, it doesn’t show in the program list.

I don’t see any errors in the download and install. I have tried multiple times already.

:\

Try to start it from command line, probably with

eemesne

or

Eemesne

. If you can’t guess the executable name execute this in command line:

rpm -qa --fileprovide <package name in yast>

.

Ah yes… I had that to.
Think it resides in the /usr/share/applications directory.
So try finding it in there and then drag it to the applications window to make it show up there. (dragging works under gnome right? haven’t used it in a while)

If it isn’t there, try the command ram88 posted or in YaST software management click the file list tab to bring up the same results as that command provides. Copy it to Gedit and ctrl+f (search) for .desktop.
Other alternatives you might like are amsn and kmess, they’re not gnome specific but they do run just fine under it.

Software Manager  It takes less time to remember all zypper command then to wait for the Software Manager.

only if you got a good memory… mine is umm fragmented and I don’t think they released a defrag application for use on humans (me) yet

Lol, sorry I thought you are a robot like me… nevermind
