Editing Picture exif metadata

The mrs took some pics at the weekend but the camera date was wrong. I have copied the pics onto my p/c (opensuse 11.00 with kde 3.5.10 & 4.1) but can’t find an image programme that will allow me to correct the exif data to show the right date (that the pictures were taken).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

DigiKam allows you to do this but recommends you use a plugin to do it to ensure that you do not mess up the EXIF format.

There is the command line program ‘exiftool’, that’s usually the fastest
way if you know how to work an xterm, but if you search Freshmeat or
Sourceforge there are plenty other programs for this task.
