Editing GRUB entries to change default boot device

Got a quick question.

I have two (2) hard drives (HD0, HD1) in my PC, each with Windows XP. By default it boots HD0. I now want to boot HD1 as my default (I replaced the hard drive).

Question, can I just edit the grub entries and make the current HD1 my HD0 and the current HD0 my HD1? If I do that, will I need to reinstall GRUB or run MBR and reinstall GRUB.

Thanks in advance.

OK. This is odd.
You have XP on both HD’s.

Your HD boot order will depend where you put Grub??

Changing HD boot order is done in BIOS
Managing what boots first from wherever - can be done with Grub

Explain exactly! What is installed where.
