Edimax EW7717Un- doesn't want to work in 11.3 Part1

Hi, I was hoping that 11.3 would sort this ongoing problem out for me. It works, it doesn’t work so on and so forth! Following the
“My wireless doesn’t work - a primer on what I should do next page”
the first few cmnd line entries were irrelevant. However, here are the results (edited) of the dmesg file.

any suggestions?

Please check the tail of /var/log/NetworkManager for any explanation of why the
deauthentications are occurring. The usual reason for “reason=2” is an incorrect
“secret”. Did anyone mess with your AP?

Hi, lwfinger

*Please check the tail of /var/log/NetworkManager for any explanation of why the
deauthentications are occurring. The usual reason for "reason=2" is an incorrect
"secret". Did anyone mess with your AP?*

I haven’t been using networkmanager, I’ve been using YAST. /var/log/NetworkManager is a 0byte size file.

i’ve even tried to install the edimax driver, but this collapses at the make stage!

I’ve just been editing the /etc/sysconfig settings to see if this helps?

any other suggestions?

I have the same problem.

My wireless worked fine, but I wanted to let aiccu start at boot. It works, but it doesn’t automatically make an ipv6 tunnel. So I found this bugreport: Bug #223825 “aiccu init.d script will race dhclient (upstart iss...” : Bugs : aiccu package : Ubuntu

And then I messed with the /etc/sysconfig-settings editor. In Network/General I changed this value: WAIT_FOR_INTERFACES.
After that, my wireless didn’t work. It has a connection, but then suddenly disconnects.
If I try the ifup setting in the Network configuration, then I can get a wireless connection, but I want to keep using NetworkManager
