Easy question: why is my mount point in /var/run?

Greetings, openSUSE forum dwellers:

I’m trying to set up a backup scheme with rsync and when I found the mount point for my external drive, I discovered that it’s /var/run/media/WD640GB (it’s a Western Digital 640GB drive).

Q: why is it not just /media/WD640GB like my old Mint setup? That seems a bit strange to me.

Thank you.

Bill

The following thread discusses the upstream changes (not openSUSE-specific), and the udev rule edit that can be used to revert to using /media if desired
