Not sure where to ask about this as web searches suggest there may be a software fix.
I am using some rather powerful near field monitor speakers and an ESI Juli@ PCI sound card on 12.3. An incredible bang when the pc is powered down or put into ram sleep mode.
Going on web searches it seems that there is a chance that this may be down to software controlled sound power saving modes that may even be applied to the card. Old posts so they don’t relate to more recent distro’s. Any one know anything about this aspect.
The other possibility is that it’s a characteristic of the sound card. Audio wise they are fairly high spec so I would hope for better. Anyone else using one or can suggest similar cards that don’t have this problem?
I do know that the speakers could be tuned off manually but getting at units with 8 3/4 in drivers isn’t that easy.
