Dvorak keyboard layout not being saved

I have tried this with both the 13.2 stable release (installed currently) and with tumbleweed. I set the keyboard layout to “Dvorak” during the install, but when I login, it is still using the default QWERTY. I look in Yast under the “hardware -> System Keyboard Layout”, and it say it is on “Dvorak”, but the test space shows QWERTY. If I change to a different layout, then back to Dvorak, it works fine. I save it, but every time I start again, it is back to the QWERTY (but shows Dvorak).

Any ideas on how I could solve this so it is always Dvorak would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Set it in KDE’s settings, this should work.

But note that those are user-specific, and don’t apply to text mode or other desktop environments (where you should have similar settings).

Sorry about the offtopic, but I noticed this thread and decided to ask. Where did you learn to touch type on dvorak? I’m currently doing my transition and I’m using www.typingstudy.com which is a typing tutor, but maybe there are even better ways to do it? I would appreciate an opinion! Thanks!
