dvips: Font Arial used in [FILE] is not in the mapping file

Hi,
using dvips converting dvi files to ps files is results in the following error:
dvips: Font Arial used in …] is not in the mapping file.

this happens only when i use the font in the document (the dvi documents are created from latex files)
Another hint in the error message is that the file texnansi.enc is missing or not found.
iam using openSUSE 12.2 (fresh install)
btw: i already installed the fetchmstfonts package with yast2 but it did not changed anything.

can you upload a test file which gives the error somewhere to look at it
and we can test how to solve it?

On my system I see /usr/share/texmf/tex/plain/ly1/texnansi.tex which is
part of the package texlive-fonts-extra.
Do you have that package installed?

Of course I meant that /usr/share/texmf/fonts/enc/dvips/ly1/texnansi.enc

But there is only a reference to the ps image file which uses the arial font and is included in the dvi file.
And for the texnansi.enc there is no path at all.
But i can give yo explicit informations if you tell me what exactly you want.
I realy need to solve this problem.

You did not answer the question:
Is the package texlive-fonts-extra installed on your machine?


rpm -q texlive-fonts-extra

and if not installed does the error go away after you install it?
