DVDStyler: Cannot open output format, during the creation of the dvd menu

Hi,
i use DVDStyler for a long time to create DVD that are playable on my TV-DVD player, i create a basic menu and put the video file in, this worked flawlessly until i switched from openSUSE 13.1 to tumbleweed (fresh install). Recently i also installed DVDStyler on this new system and tried to burn one of those DVDs, but this fails right in the beginning with the error message from the topic: Cannot open output format
and then there is another line (in german) which roughly translates to: error during the creation of the menu.

I do not know whats the problem here, i also tried to use the default settings and just add the video file (a mkv file to it, i used one that worked on opensuse 13.1) but again the same error (i thought that the error was maybe related to my custom menu grafics or the backgroud music file i added).

Does anyone have an idea what can be wrong here?

Make sure you have all ffmpeg/libav packages from Packman.
I.e. do a “zypper dup” to Packman, and preferably give Packman a higher priority than the standard repos.

If you need further help for this, please post your repo list:

zypper lr -d

ffmpeg is included in the distribution now (it wasn’t in 13.1), but only a “crippled” version that don’t support restricted codecs, including MPEG(2) that’s required for a video DVD.

All packages already seem to be from the packman repository. And ffmpeg was not even installed (but i installed it) i also set the packman priority from 99 to 98 and did a zypper dup but nothing changed.

I hope you do use the Packman Repo for Tumbleweed, not 13.1 or any other version?

Sorry, I have no idea then.

I neither use DVDStyler nor Tumbleweed…

Yes i think so, it is located here: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/
