DVD UDF Mount - Access denied as user OK as root in Suse10.3

Hi folks I was wondering if any folks had cracked this one (see link):

Raiden’s Realm: Tutorial: Mounting UDF DVD’s in Linux - Page 1

It appears that if you have a DVD which was burnt under Windows using UDF on certain applications you can see the thing only as root (which I can) but not as user. Is there a way to get this to function for the user ? I can play the **** thing using XP in VirtualBox, I’d just love to be able to mount it as user natively

Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.

Bump - Any takers ?

yep, i can mount it and read it the following way (note: the following assumes you want to mount it at a place you make at /mnt/dvd and that ALL users have full read/write access - for anything else about permissions, do ask if it’s needed)

open up a terminal/konsole window
enter root password
mkdir /mnt/dvd
mount -t udf /dev/sr0 /mnt/dvd
chmod -R 777 /mnt/dvd

job done, hopefully

Cheers dude, I’ll give it a try :good:
