DVD Playback question

Hi,

I have a fresh installation of OpenSuse 11 with a working internet connection. I would like to play DVD movies, but I see OpenSuse needs extra codecs. I heard that gxine as well as vlc can play dvd’s so I tried to install them, but I was not successfull.

What can I do to watch DVD movies?

Please help.
