After a fresh install of 11.3 from 11.2 on my system I went about updating packages to play DVD’s. On 11.2 I found a web page that talk you through it and it worked like a dream. But can’t get vlc, cine, mplayer etc to play DVD’s with sound only picture on11.3 or sound from websites, no sorry mplayer will play sound but it’s mess up and i can’t get rid of any subtitles.
I’ve been searching for almost a day, and no luck, I justended up installing more packages. Any idea what I’m missing? thanks
(my system does play sound so it’s not on mute as it always plays the start up turn)
Yes went through this, I think I’m going to do a fresh install again and start from base, maybe I’ve done something wrong and trying to add DVD support and it’s biting me back in the ass
Do follow that guide exactly, particularly with respect to number of repos, and instruction on adding/removing videolan repo (for libdvdcss) so as to avoid any conflicts with packman packages.

Thank you for your reply consused.
Solved the problem, I did a complete re-stall of 11.3 and followed the guide, before I did any updates. Everything is working as it should be. Thanks
