G’Day openSUSE Forum. I downloaded the 64bit DVD 13 version of openSUSE. burnt the iso file to a DVD-RW. Now I would like to have a couple of trial runs of the OS before I decide if I install it. When I place the DVD in the PC and boot it, the first screed Intro etc., etc., is displayed but I can not find how I can use the OS without installing the OS. It could just I am unfamilar with openSUSE, not as simple as Linux Mintm then it could be me an old man. Thanks, Smokey
Did you download the DVD (4.7 GB)?
Then you cannot. That’s only for installation.
You would need one of the Live ISOs (~1GB each).
I downloaded both the CD version & the DVD version. Neither wants to display the desktop, Task-bar and panels all are fragmented no close buttons etc. only way to get rid of what has been open is to close the PC down. Overall openSuse leaves a lot to be desired.

I think you tried GNOME. GNOME is kind of minimalistic nowadays these
days.
If GNOME is not to your taste then Try Live KDE
GNOME 3.10.1
openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.11.6-4-desktop
