DVD "disappeared" after burning DVD without success using k3B

Dear All,
can it be that burning a DVD the DVD-hardware got broken ?
I tried to duplicate for backup a DVD using k3b. The burning did finish unsuccessful. After that the DVD does not get any more recognised.
I used k3b as non privileged user.

When I use the mount from comandline I get the error message
mount -t auto /dev/dvd /media/dvd
mount: no medium found on /dev/sr0

Dolphin furthermore complains that
/run/media/root/
does not exist.
When I try to boot from DVD this does also not work.
Thank you very much for any hint
yours,
Erich

That seems like the end of a dvd-drive.

You could try:

  1. Open the tray, blow it out and blow out into the interior of the device where the tray pops out of;
  2. Do not use your finger, use a lint-free cloth and gently wipe the laser bulb; or
  3. Put your DVD on the tray, then with thumb and forefinger squeeze the top and bottom of the centre hub tightly, then give the DVD/CD a gentle spin.

See if any of those things help.
