Hi, I’ve got a dvb-t mobile tv tuner from fujitsu-siemens, in the channels configuration in kaffeine it is not detected, although it is detected by a tiny program called w_scan (which actually finds channels).
Some Output:

I already made two files, one channels.conf in ~/.xine and one channels.dvb in ~/.kde4/share/apps/kaffeine/, any help?
Using OpenSUSE 11.2.
Thanks in advance!
Would be great to get some help.
Hi
Have you installed the package called “dvb”?

Hi
I know you have run the w_scan tool, but do the channels appear when
you run;
scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/<your_area>
Does the output compare to your saved files? I’m just wondering if
there are subtle differences between w_scan and scan.

Yes the channels do appear, but there is a difference between the output and the two files I saved.
This is the output of scan:

Yes the channels do appear, but there is a difference between the

This is the output of scan:

Hi
So if you tee it out and try with Kaffine?
scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/<your_area> -o zap | tee ~/new_channels.conf

Doesnt work, shouldnt it be possible to scan for channels from kaffeine itself? But there the “source” area is grey…

Hi
It should, but I’m guessing that something it depends on is still
missing… There was a user that had issues
http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/418832-no-channels-found-dvb-card.html
Have you tried using YaST to configure?
I’m not a KDE user, I use smplayer with a usb dvb device and it works
fine?
I need to login to KDE on my netbook and try kaffine…

Yes I tried YaST but it didnt work… What could be missing? I installed the firmware, the device is able to find channels, but kaffeine is unable to use them, maybe I should try another player? I’ll try mplayer with some qt frontend.

Yes I tried YaST but it didnt work… What could be missing? I installed
the firmware, the device is able to find channels, but kaffeine is
unable to use them, maybe I should try another player? I’ll try mplayer
with some qt frontend.
Hi
If you copy the channels.conf into ~/.mplayer and run mplayer dvb://
there should be some output.

Had the same problem, and found a solution…
Press 5 for digital TV.
Click on the little wrench near bottom left, with a mouse over of “Configure Television”.
Choose the tab for your device.
Select your source (for use DVB-t, use us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB.
Now when you click on the little TV button with the mouse over of “Channels”, the scan button should be enabled.
