DVB-T does not work

Dear Friends,

My TV application (VLC or KAFFEINE) works fine with dual channel AF9015 DVB-T adapter, but sometimes dos not start.
When not working, the /dev/dvb/adapter0 entry is disappears. The dmesg shows the following:
linux-99o1:/home/adamed # dmesg | grep dvb
92.840087] usb 7-2: dvb_usb_v2: found a ‘Afatech AF9015 reference design’ in warm state
93.059166] usb 7-2: dvb_usb_v2: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer
93.081943] usb 7-2: dvb_usb_v2: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer
93.303525] usb 7-2: dvb_usb_af9015: command failed=1
93.309333] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_af9015
linux-99o1:/home/adamed # ^C

What is really strange, this happens randomly.
On this same system, starting old SuSE 13.1, everything is OK.

Have somebody any idea? Thanks in advance!
Frank

A few years ago with a DVB-T USB stick, I found that, I had to retrieve the stick’s microcode and place it in a “lib/firmware/” sub-directory for the stick to function properly, with Kaffeine …

Worked fine for a while, until the openSUSE version moved on but, the stick’s microcode no longer wanted to load properly. I gave up and, bought a small TV set for the location …

I haven’t used DVB on a pc but
seeing how kaffeine 1.2.2 is a kde4 application have you tried using kaffeine 2.0 from the KDE:Extra repository which afaik is a plasma 5 app and might integrate better with the plasma 5 desktop
