dv6325 and 11.1 no dvd?

I have a weird one - I’ve had 10.2, 10.3, 11.0, and now just installed 11.1 (still had to use ndiswrapper :frowning: ) and it tells me that my lightscribe dvd/cd burner is not a burner? Odd, all the others had correctly detected it and even the lightscribe worked…

Is there a setting somewhere I can tell it that it’s a burner or else redetect or something?

Its a bug. There are a zillion posts on our forum of users complaining.

Add your users to group “disk” (and maybe also group “cdrom”) . This can be done by:

YAST >> Security and Users >> User Management >> “select your user” >> Edit >> Details >> Groups >> check “disk” and “cdrom” and then click on “ACCEPT”. Then restart your PC.

If that does not work, take a look here:

Eeep! Sorry to ask such an obvious question and thank you for the reply!:shame:
