I’ve noticed, that when i boot my laptop, it doesn’t show the tumbleweed logo. It shows a dell logo with a loading animation.
However, when i shutdown, i notice that the tumbleweed logo is then displayed at the bottom of the screen.
I don’t notice this problem with leap however.
Is it a bug or is it intended?
Is it question about startup or shutdown?
During startup it is intended. It will show firmware boot logo if it can be found. The idea is to provide “seamless” boot experience without much screen flickering. Some distributions (e.g. Ubuntu) overlay own logo in addition.
During shutdown there is little point in showing firmware logo as display content is already different anyway before shutdown start.
