I have a strange problem with KDE 4. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or a settings problem. Basicly, my icons on the desktop always have a dark square around them, as if my mouse was hovering over them, but the squares never go away.
Also on the bottom right, on the task bar, all the smaller icons have flat black square around them. Those square look like glitches but, the deskop icons don’t.
Anyway know what the problem could be?
If you really want to use KDE 4, the way to go is to install KDE 4.1 beta 2.
Add this repo, and then pull update all in this repo.

It looks like they might already have KDE 4.1 beta 3 packages in it. I didn’t realize it was already tagged.
Nope, that didn’t do anything for my problem. I really don’t notice any difference.
Just try this.
Re-name your .kde4 folder to .kde4old
restart you desktop Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
When you login now it we be as it’s your first. Is the problem still there?
Nope, that didn’t appear to do anything. Neither of the ideas did anything to fix the problem. Is it my video card perhaps? Nvida 6200
Is there a way I can roll back to KDE 3.5 until they work out the bugs in KDE 4?
Just install via yast-software management
you can add the kde3 repo later too, to update
Do you have a picture of what this problem looks like?
