Dualboot (opensuse 13.1 & windows 8.1) - can not boot to opensuse anymore

Hi

I need help with reparing dualboot configuration. I can just boot to windows but not to opensuse. I supose this happened after one of windows updates but not sure. Please tell me what more info (listing) you require and I will send it.

8.1 I assume that it is a EFI BIOS???

At the boot can you select the boot from the BIOS it is usually F10 I think but depends on the machine

See if the openSUSE is still listed in the BIOS. It is possible that Windows totally over wrote the EFI boot partition. If it is try to select it to be default boot

I am assuming a UEFI system.

Can you boot opensuse from a DVD or USB. If you installed with the DVD installer, then boot that and select “rescue” mode. Alternatively, boot one of the live media (live Gnome or live KDE or live rescue).

Either way, get to a command line as root. Then run the command

# efibootmgr -v

and post the output here.

Many thanks. I forgot to look there. Yes there is opensuse menu item in BIOS. When I click on it I get GRUB menu and manage to boot suse. I will try to set it as default.
