Dual Screen problem

Hello,

I cannot see the same issue being reported, so I will try to get some help.
I have a dual screen setup, and since the last upgrade, the side and corner of the screen are no longer responsive.
I disabled the hot corner, but it did not help.
So, if I have a program full screen on the right screen, the menu of the top left wont work. I have to minimize the application window to be able to use the menu.
Same if I have a full screen application on the left screen, the minimize, close windows button on the top right wont work.
The GPU is AMD not Nvidia, so I did not install any drivers.
What coudl cause the issue?

We probably can’t help based upon the sketchy information provided:

  1. TW
  2. AMD GPU
  3. 2 displays

Which Desktop Environment or Window Manager are you using?
What resolutions are your displays’ natives?
What TW version did you upgrade from?
What TW version did you upgrade to?
Which AMD GPU do you have?
Is latest kernel-firmware-amdgpu version installed?
Is latest kernel-firmware-radeon version installed? (only needed if very old GPU)
Which kernel is running?
Does this happen in both Wayland and Xorg sessions?
Does this happen if you use an IcwWM session instead of your normal one?

Input/output pasted here within code tags or pre tags from running inxi -GSaz would answer some of these questions. Input/output from xrandr might also be of use, as might URL output from cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | susepaste -e 10080.

As for now, I have resolved the issue by switching from Wayland to X11.

As for the information on my system :

Kernel: 6.3.1-2-default arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 13.0.1
Desktop: GNOME v: 44.1 tk: GTK v: 3.24.38 wm: gnome-shell dm: GDM v: 44.1
Device-1: AMD Navi 23 [Radeon RX 6600/6600 XT/6600M] vendor: Sapphire
driver: amdgpu v: kernel arch: RDNA-2 code: Navi-2x process: TSMC n7 (7nm)
Display: x11 server: X.org v: 1.21.1.8 with: Xwayland v: 23.1.1

My GPU is the 6600XT.

The issue is particularly annoying when using fullscreen applications. Part of the right side of the left screen (main monitor) is not “active” … So the button minimize/close cannot be clicked for example.

Is there a downside being on X11 as opposed to the default Wayland?

Highly doubtful. I have several dozen TW installations. On none have I ever tried to open a Wayland session. X11 is mature, not developer candy. I like that.
