Dual screen on suse 11.1

I have a Radeon Mobility M300 video card on an IBM T43 labtop.
I have this labtop on a docking station connected to a Dell screen.

SaX2 doesn’t recognize my Dell screen, and so from the labtop commands I am unable to have the main screen on the Dell monitor and a secondary one on the labtop screen.

I would like to have (if possible) my primary desktop on the Dell Monitor and the secondary one on the labtop screen.

Can you please tell me what to install /update /configfure?

Thank you

Not familiar with docking stations or Dell hardware, but maybe worth trying the following: With the Dell screen connected, type

xrandr -q

and observe what gets reported.

Can you tell us which driver (radeon or fglrx) you are using? If you’re not sure, one of these commands can help

/sbin/lspci -nnk

/usr/sbin/hwinfo --gfxcard

Hi
You should just be able to use the Display properties (In Gnome it’s
gnome-display-properties, there should be a KDE equiv i you using that)
and configure your monitors. There should be no need to use sax in that
situation. You could also check the output from the command xrandr with
and without the external monitor plugged in.
