Dual Boot with Windows 7 problem

I have a new Compaq CQ60-615DX laptop which runs Win 7. This laptop seems to have issues with dual booting. as of now, I am running PCLOS 2009 & Win 7 refuses to start from GRUB.

I don’t know why except that GRUB has probably overwritten the original bootloader that came with Win 7. Now I’m looking to install SUSE 11.2 M8 & don’t want any of this type of problem with the new OS.

Can anyone help with this issue ?? As of now, I’m going to have to reinstall Win 7 to restore the bootloader and don’t need to go thru this again.

Thanks !!

You don’t need to re-install win7 to restore the boot loader.
Make sure you put the boot flag on the win7 boot partition

Just boot the win 7 dvd
Select Lanaguage etc…
Click repair computer
Click the part to repair
In recovery options choose command prompt

then do

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /rebuildbcd
bootrec /fixboot

done.

If you had posted the result of

fdisk -l

we might be able to help better
