dual-boot windows

Hi All,

Can someone please give me a step-by-step tutorial on how to dual-boot with openSUSE after you install windows xp? I started out with removing windows xp and then installing openSUSE 11.0, I now have it successfully installed as my only operating system, but now I want to re-install windows and still be able to do a dual-boot with openSUSE. I tried to install windows already and after I found I had to delete a partition in order to install windows (I deleted the partition that didn’t have openSUSE on it). After I had it successfully installed I found that I couldn’t boot to openSUSE, even though it was still on my hard drive. Then I had to re-install openSUSE and delete windows.

So if anyone can give me a step-by-step tutorial on how to be able to boot to openSUSE after installing windows I would really appreciate it.

Thanks alot for the help.

U didnt actually had to delete windows the last time u reinstalled opensuse. Now as i have understood, u have a opensuse installed and a free parition to install windows. Then,
1.Install windows on the empty partition.
2.After windows installation is compelted, instert the opensuse installation dvd.Choose insallation and at the step where u have to choose between “new installation”, “update” and “reair” choose “repair installed system”, then choose reinstall GRUB.After GRUB installation is completed, reboot and be sure that installation dvd is not in your cd rom drive. Now u will get a screen everytime your system boots so that u choose which operating system u want to work with

Good luck

You should have left Windows in.
It seems most linux distros work best when you already have windows in and then add a linux distro in, to create a dual boot system.
