Dual Boot Problem after 12.3 upgrade!

Hello,

I upgraded from openSUSE 12.2 to 12.3. But the grub doesn’t give me an option to choose Windows 7 anymore. I put in Windows installation DVD and and tried a startup repair and it didn’t help either… wiped out the grub. Now only Wndows 7 is there… So I had to do an update on openSUSE again (only took a few minutes) & same problem with the grub at the startup… no options to choose Windows 7!

Could you please help me fix this issue? Can it be done using bootloader?

Also, I want Windows 7 to load automatically after grub screen timeout instead of openSUSE… How do I fix that?

Thanks.

Go to YaST2 bootloader configuration, ensure GURB2 is selected and “Probe foreign OS” is checked. It will detect Windows and add it to boot menu.

Thanks. It worked!
