Dual Boot Prob

I got xp installed on a small partition on my hard drive. Now when i turn on the computer GRUB does not appear to let me choose my os, XP boots automatically :’(. How can i get my grub back?

Installing Xp probably over wrote the Grub code in the master Boot Record of the hard drive. So you can reinstall Grub by using the repair facility in the installation DVD. Here’s the detail for doing that:
GRUB Boot Multiboot openSUSE Windows (2000, XP, Vista) using the Grub bootloader.

And if you don’t have an install DVD, there are four more ways to get back on this tutorial: HowTo Boot into openSUSE when it won’t Boot from the Grub Code on the Hard Drive
From those four extra ways, I particularly like this one: Reinstall Grub in the Master Boot Record and link it to the existing Grub menu in openSUSE

This makes me feel very humble. I have to admit I never visitied opensuse.swerdna.org…And it’s GOOD & GREAT. The one pointed at particularly is a beauty in it’s simplicity. And I know this way works, and almost always works. Glad to have seen this is writing.

Cheers swerdna, keep up the good work

Thanks for the compliment.
