Alright, this is a bit of an odd thing to do, but I’d like to take my OpenSuse 13.1 and dual boot it with Windows XP. How would I go about doing this? I only want it for some programs that will not work with other Windows operating systemsf and OpenSuse.
Well first off you can not use XP on a EFI system unless all OS are installed in legacy mode… All OS must be installed in the same mode.
If the programs don’t require high end graphics like gaming the best solution is to install XP in a VM (virtual machine). The easiest to deal with is VirtualBox
I completely forgot I have virtual box, thank you for reminding me… I’ll try it on that first, but I’m not sure it will work, the graphics are quite good considering it was made over 10 years ago.
If you genuinely want to dual boot, there is only one way to do it; install Windows XP first and openSUSE afterwards. Using Virtualbox is the only option if you already have openSUSE installed.
