What happens if you open dolphin, go to the dropbox folder and try ‘make public link’?
I go to the dropbox folder with dolphin go to public folder, right click on a file>dropbox>generate public URL
it generate the public link as follow:

But unfortunately, if you click the dropbox icon in the tray, it’s going to default to nautilus and I don’t think I know a solution to that. Even if you remove the the nautilus dropbox plugin it will still happen that way.
yes, even if I remove the nautilus plugin it opens nautilus.
You’ll probably have to live with it this way
