Dropbox...

Hi folks, running 13.2 RC1, I installed Dropbox from YAST, but it refuses to start. Here is what it reports on the CLI

sp 08:35:~>
dropbox status
Dropbox isn't running!
sp 08:35:~>
dropbox ls
Dropbox isn't running!
sp 08:35:~>
dropbox start
Starting Dropbox...
The Dropbox daemon is not installed!
Run "dropbox start -i" to install the daemon
sp 08:35:~>
dropbox start -i
Starting Dropbox...Attempt to unlock mutex that was not locked
Aborted

Here are my repos:

13.2, KDE 4.14.1

Should be fixed in 13.2 final.

Thank you Wolfli, it’s good to know that the bug report/fixing system is alive and well and working properly! I’ll use dropbox via browser until the fix is in the usual repo’s.

You could use the Factory package in the meantime.

But then, it’s only 10 days until 13.2 GM, i.e. when the final 13.2 version will be in the repos.
I don’t know whether there will be another snapshot/RC before that, but I don’t think so.

The GM will be the next release where it’s usably testable? Shades of Mandrake! :smh:

As I said, I don’t know really.
But IIRC that’s how it was for 13.1.
And there’s none scheduled:
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap
http://stephan.kulow.org/opensuse_13.2/

There’s only 1 week left anyway, so it probably wouldn’t really make sense to release another RC.

There is a trouble on daemon installation step only.
You may install kfilebox and it downloads and installs the official daemon flawlessly.
After it you can uninstall kfilebox and use dropbox as usual.

Excellent tip, thank you Climenty, it is working like a charm now!

>#zypper in kfilebox

>$kfilebox

>$dropbox

set up dropbox

># zypper rm kfilebox

And done!

lol!
