Drivers?!

Galaxy 60XGH6HS3HML GeForce GTX 460 GC Edtion Video Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, Dual DVI, Mini HDMI, SLI, DirectX 11, Fermi - 3696 MHz

Is there a driver for this? … have checked several websites/forums

… I am going to put it in this…

Gateway DX4831-07 Desktop Gaming PC - Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, DVDRW, HDMI, eSATA, FireWire M$7 -Premium

I have researched but am finding no luck…

-Cheers

NVIDIA DRIVERS 256.44 Certified
That’s for _64 BTW

Manual install
SDB:NVIDIA the hard way - openSUSE

Thank you friend!

-Cheers!

No problem, hope all goes/went well.

caf,

I went to your links`above, the top one, and Nvidia.download.whatever

I checked this and updated:

x11-video-nvidiaG02 + nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-(kernel_flavor)

I rebooted and (my system is default to runlevel three), logged in, typed startx, and got a long looping scroll of text.

??? Should I have grabbed the G01 package??? ??? Did I mess up by not uninstalling my previous driver???

…please keep in mind that I’m running on 64 bit OS…

thanks,

P.S. side question… where does one find where one’s drivers are stored, a dir path… or certain file ??

For a PCI-Express, dual DVI, etc … I doubt it.

/lib/modules/2.6.34-12-desktop/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia
(depending on your kernel)

I’m somewhat confused by what you write.
The top link was a direct download of the driver from nvidia

But then you mention

I checked this and updated:

x11-video-nvidiaG02 + nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-(kernel_flavor)
Which is on the lines of the repo method

So. How exactly did you install your driver…

Yes, I attempted the repo method becasued for something like a video card, I felt more confident doing it through yast, than through the CL in runlevel three…Maybe I mis-read it. I’ll go in through failsafe, and get rid of the repo…

Thanks…
