Drivers for DELL 2135cn color laser mfp

Hi all,

does anyone know where to get drivers for the DELL 2135cn to run under
SuSE 10.3?

Thanks for any hint!

Goetz

OpenPrinting is the place to go to see about printer drivers on linux, if you want open-source drivers;

(Brother, canon, Epson and HP offer quite a range of drivers for their printers);

I have read that many Dell printers are Lexmark;

many Lexmark inkjet are not supported; (whereas the laser may be better);

here is the Dellpage

OpenPrinting database - All Dell Printers

… not a lot on it …

and here is the Lexmark page

OpenPrinting database - All Lexmark Printers

doesn’t seem like you are in luck;

Thanks for your research. I should have mentioned I checked that place
already - to no avail.
What I also checked was Dell’s own website, “open source” not being
mandatory for me in this case. For the “lexmark way” I’m lacking the
knowledge which might be the correct “twin”.

I’m still hoping because the printer is fairly new and for an old HP
laser MFP (3170) I found linux driver roughly 9 years after it had been
launched!

Maybe it won’t take that long this time…

Thanks anyhow,

Goetz

A forum discussion in www.openprinting.org helped:
The pxlcolor ppd for the Dell 3100cn works - at lest for the “standard
cases” I tried so far…(thanks a lot, Marc).
