Driver for 802.11 n/g/b Wireless LAN USB Adapter

I’m using openSuse 11.1 on a MEDION Computer AKOYA P7300 D and I’m searching for a Driver for 802.11 n/g/b Wireless LAN USB Adapter

Dev: AzureWare Technologie AW-NU222
Seems it is a Ralink Chipset, may be of the Ralink 2870

I’ve downloaded 2008_0925_RT2870_Linux_STA_v1.4.0.0.tar.bz2 from Ralink, which is source code

openSUSE reports the device as “Bus 006 Device 004: ID 13d3:3247 IMC Networks 802.11 n/g/b Wireless LAN Adapter”

My question now is: must I compile, link and load this download?

I have exactly the same problem:

  • Medion desktop computer
  • opensuse 11.1
  • 802.11 n/g/b Wireless LAN USB Adapter
    (Ralink 2870 chipset)

Wireless adapter is not recognized, I get to the same point as you do.

Perhaps a similar procedure as in this guide will work:
Ralink RT2500 Linux Howto - BB-ZONE

I’ll post an update if this works for me.
