Hi guys.
It may not surprise you, but beside my servers I own a bunch of laptops running differnt systems. Now this is a question for Linux/openSuse only: Do I need some kind of drive protection software in case a notebook drops? If so, which one can you recommend?
Oh, and for all Windows-People: Use ThinkVantage drive protection: It’s awesome. lol!
Hi
I think that is only implemented on IBM notebooks? There is a module
but don’t think its in the kernel yet. I’m sure there was a post in the
forum about this, but can’t remember where…

Thanks, I very much appreciate you answer to this important question - but isn’t there some easy OCI around? Lemme look…
How about THIS ONE? Would that work? I’ll try…
Hi
Just checked, the module is already in the latest kernel;
/sbin/modinfo hdaps
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-3.2-pae/kernel/drivers/hwmon/hdaps.ko
license: GPL v2

Means I didn’t need to install the above mentioned package?
What happens if I uninstall it? Will the importnat module be removed from the kernel? I’ll try…
Well, I just removed the package via YAST, where I sewlected it. Hope that’s ok. As for your patience: Once again, I need to thank you and click the button.
