How do I drag and drop files? It will not let me in 11.0. I will dl a file to the desk top but it will not let me drag it to another folder and vise versa. any ideas?
What desktop environment are you using (KDE, Gnome, etc.)?
I am using KDE 4.0
I use dolphin split view columns
Pick up from one side - drag over to the other, it then brings option box ‘move here’ etc…
Thanks!
Too bad you can’t just drag and drop from the desktop to the folders.
But the Desktop is different now in KDE4
Most of us a keeping up to date with the Factory repo and so are now on 4.1.2
I don’t use the feature myself, but the folder view option could possibly do what you are suggesting.
If you have not already upgraded kde4, why not do so. I would recommend installing kde3 though if you haven’t already done so, it’s still more or less an essential fall back.
To add kde3 use Yast software management - filter by patterns and select kde3base and kde3desktop
you can then add the kde3 buld service repo
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_11.0
then in software management - filter by repo and select the new kde3 and update all in this list if newer ver avail.
kde4 factory repo’s:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.0
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.0_KDE4_Factory_Desktop
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Qt/openSUSE_11.0
If you have added any old kde4.0 repo’s you need to disable them
You can drag and drop files from the desktop (folder view) to folders or between folders
