download repo mirrors' speed accessibility

Okay,

For sometime now, the mirrors of download.opensuse.org have been rediculously slow…I mean STUPIDLY slow… (its not my link, nu.novell.com is fine to download from).

Its so bad, I even get timeout errors or “connection refused” from mirrors (mostly widehat.opensuse.org at the moment)…

This is making it completely and utterly impossible to patch my system!

I can provide source IP on request if required for tracing.

“Frustration” doesn’t begin to explain how I feel about opensuse at the moment…

Hi
Perhaps a visit to the announcements sub forum will explain why?

Didn’t you read the announcement?
Or the post where rapbondoc asks the same as you?

Tsk, tsk…

Considering the closest Forum topic, under Announcements, relating to this was “Started by hendersj, Today 04:41”…and its not even sticky!

But the content raises a serious question about the reliability of the openSUSE repositories with a second RAID failure within 4 months… :\
