Is the download server offline?
I can’t connect to it!
Is the download server offline?
I can’t connect to it!
Seems like it is.
Worked for me just now – compare the times of my post against yours. Quirky.
Edit: spoke too soon – got a bunch of nothing.
download.opensuse.org pings alright, but no http access. Just wait. And at this very moment i need the repos desperately for lots of devel files to compile the most beautiful plasmoid i’ve seen so far: activewindowcontrol. It’s in the KDE trunk, got it via svn, on my main machine it compiles and works.
Redirector is currently offline for some reason - ETA ?.
No ping response here(taiwan).
try
Index of /pub/opensuse/repositories
instead.
yes, still down…really not acceptable

I’ve been told that the disk system has failed - ETA for repairs is still questionmark.
I’ll post any further information I get here.
Me too – I was probably hallucinating. dam-n – where are the pills – they warned me but I wouldn’t listen. Mutter … mutter … hmmm…
[opensuse-announce] download.opensuse.org broken down

I'm sorry to say that download.opensuse.org will be unavailable for some
time.
Its storage array broke down once again, and we have no backup.
(We are in need of hardware since ever; if anyone would be able to
sponsor some, we would be very glad about it.)
This affects stage.opensuse.org as well (same box).
I can’t give a timeline yet, but expect it to be offline for one to
several days.
Thanks,

[opensuse-announce] download.opensuse.org broken down](http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-announce/2009-03/msg00008.html)
Yes, you read that right.
well, Suse infrastructure is not designed for high availability >:(
OK, so far for the failover system they don’t have.
I urgently need to install the Kernel Headers 2.6.27.19-3.2-default package to be able to use VMware.
Any idea where I can get those from a mirror of the download site if it exists ??
doesnt work here either… (costa rica)
You can find a complete list of mirrors here which you can use temporarily as your oss/non-oss repositories:
openSUSE Download Mirrors - 11.1
Incidentally can we get this stick for a while and / or make a new thread about it? The redirector might be down for days.

download.opensuse.org is a front to a pool of servers… some
of which are up and some of which can be down. Need a better
mechansism for pulling ill behaved servers out of the pool
though… you know… you’re bad… but ok… ok… now
you’re really bad… go to the end of the line… ok…
now you’re really, really, really bad… YOU’RE OUT (until
you can prove you belong back in the pool).
Is there a mirror for this repository?
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/mail/openSUSE_11.1/
widehat.opensuse.org is an accurate mirror of download.opensuse.org
… except source rpm’s (.src.rpm) for which you can just use:
ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/
… except for the source/ repo, for which you can just use:
ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.opensuse.org/
Hi
Have a look at you closer mirrors from the list
http://mirrors.opensuse.org/list/11.1.html
it does exist here…
