Hi AB,
Are you saying GM will be available publicly?
Thanks.

This was the part I was referring to…
<quote>
Fri, Nov 06 openSUSE 11.2 Gold Master
- Only showstopper and security bugfixes get integrated.
- Milestone: Final drop of all manuals for novell.com/documentation
- Goldmaster to be uploaded to stage server
Thu, Nov 12 openSUSE 11.2 Release
- openSUSE 11.2 publically available
</quote>
So it’ll be available in under a week in any case.
Good luck.

Awwww when I saw this thread, I thought perhaps the GM had made early to the wild. Last year someone claimed to have 11.1-GM from Piratebay.
A whole 5 days to wait!

If I can find it somewhere internally I’ll post it and send out a link but
I usually do not get info like that in passing ahead of time so no guarantees.
Good luck.

well you could just grab the final/GM 11.2 release from this official mirror:
Index of /distribution/11.2/iso
and not have to wait another 4 days or so. working fine here.
stefan
Nice, but no x86_64 DVD iso yet.
well can’t have everything i suppose. i just settled for the final of the kde_x64 livecd. I prefer that one over waiting 4 more days for the final dvd … besides fedora12 will be out shortly after…
No delta for the DVD
Also the 32 bit DVD seems kinda too small, 193 MB :)??
C’mon you guys! just 4 days! You can’t wait a lousy 4 days?!
It’ll be here 12 Nov 2009. Just wait it’ll be here & there’s a good chance all of you will be too.
Anyone would think this is a closing down sale at Harrods! Don’t get killed in the rush.
Argh… whole 4 days?? I can’t wait… Must… Download… Can’t… sleep… Must… Download…
Its gonna take me 4 days to figure out how to get a backup program to work
I hope opensuse will soon have something like SimpleBackup or fwbackups or backintime except that it installs and works.
I agree. openSUSE repos lack backup solutions. There’s the heavy stuff like Bacula which is overkill for most people, and the overly simple like Back-in-time which doesn’t back up to networked destinations (and is tediously slow in the bargain). KDEbackup is promising but still not very mature. We need an equivalent to Ubuntu’s sbackup, or packaged versions of something like fwbackups, Areca, or PCbackup.
What’s all this waiting for 11.2 ? Updated my laptop from the Factory repos this afternoon, and now it says:
glosscomputer@Laptop:~> cat /etc/SuSE-release
openSUSE 11.3 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11.3
lol! rotfl! Even before 11.2 is out !!!
Is that on BTRFS? Or are you too chicken?
Hi
I can repackage fwbackup using the fc11 spec if you want?

RSync is complete as the Empress has foreseen.
Why not install the system on LVM and just make snapshots? Then just zip/bzip2/rsync/lzma the hell out of that snapshot
