download beta without torrent

Hy,

how can i get the beta from opensuse 11.1 dvd.iso without the torrent protocol.
Our firewall let only pass http and ftp…

Hi

you can get them here

I hope this is the version which you ask for :wink:

If you have Alpha2 DVD or iso, you can use “applydeltaiso nameofalplha2.iso nameofalphatobetadelta.iso nameofnew.iso”. It will work with the DVD too, “applydeltaiso /dev/sr0 nameofalphatobetadelta.iso nameofnew.iso” where /dev/sr0 is the path to DVD device.

Start that & go make a pot of coffee:)

openSUSE-11.1-Alpha2_Beta1-DVD-i386.delta.iso is at the link SpiBase presented.

Hy,

thanks for the tip, but for the Alpha2 I have the same proplem I had for the Beta1. I only have a 11.0 DVD

Can I still go up with the deltas?

applydeltaiso 11.0.iso + alpha2.iso -> new1.iso
applydeltaiso new1.iso + beta1.iso -> yougotit.iso

is there no step with alpha1.iso needed?
i cant see alpha1.iso…

No, you will need to start with an 11.1.iso

Yes, I think 11.1 Alpha1 has been taken down as it was pretty raw.

You could delete the 11.0 yast-sources; add the 11.1beta1 link as a yast-source (it alone)
then:
“zypper ref”
“zypper dup”
which is what I did going from alpha1 -> alpha2 -> Beta1
That may take a while depending on how loaded the servers are.

Good luck.

****…
my internet connection at home is to small/slow for the online update, so i need an iso wich I can get only via http or ftp…

so I have to wait until 11.1 is finaly released…

I had another idea with an web-torrent client at http://www2.torrelay.com - but they limit the filesize…

does anybody has another idea???

That’s the method I’m using.

Consider having a pot of coffee (or a two-liter of your favorite soft drink) handy; even with a broadband connection, it takes some time (one thousand eighty packages and nearly a gigabyte of files); due to a hang almost completely through, it’s taking two passes and over two and a half hours. (In my case, it’s both versions of KDE/GNOME/XFCE, the kernel/source/headers, as well as the IDEs and the C/C++/Mono dev tools.)

Definitely not for the bandwidth-challenged.

Index of /distribution/11.1-Beta2/iso

Thats the link
If you have limited bandwidth I would wait untill Monday. The live cd
is due then also the 86-64 is supposedly broken and due Monday also.

For Beta 2 go to ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/11.1-Beta2/iso/dvd/

thanks very muchlol!lol!lol!
