Is it possible to downgrade my version of XBMC from version 13.1 to 12.3?
I am running openSUSE 13.1 with the NVIDIA driver 304.121 and I can not
see any fonts in any of the menus with version 13.1 of XBMC. I had
upgraded my openSUSE 12.3 to 13.1 and XBMC was upgraded in the process.
I have another desktop with openSUSE 13.1 with XBMC version 12.3 and
everything runs fine. I can not figure out how to get version 12.3 on
this computer.
I found an other forum that suggested updating the NVIDIA driver to a
newer Beta version because of the font problem but I would prefer not to
go that route and instead downgrade my version of XBMC. I looked
through the repositories but I am not having any luck finding version 12.3.
Well, AFAIK precompiled packages for openSUSE are only available at packman. In the link below you’ll see that version 12.x is only available for openSUSE 12.1. You could try to download the rpm and install it, but you’ll probably run into conflicts.
You may do better by trying to fix the font issue. I’d start by checking if you have the msttf font package correctly installed. There is a script called fetchmsttfonts you can run from yast’s software manager to install them, if you didn’t already.

Thank you for your response.
I installed the fonts and rebooted just to make sure but had the same
results as before. After the reboot there was an update on my NVIDIA
driver so I installed that and rebooted and still the same result.
When I start XBMC from the command line I get the error:
code:
~> xbmc
Running DIL (3.23.0) Version
DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0
DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
libGL error: Try again with LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose for more details.
The new version of the NVIDIA driver is 304.121-38.1 and my video
hardware is a GeForce 6150SE nforce 430/Integrated/SSE2.
