Double Tapping and GNOME Extensions

Hi guys, just a couple of issues. I’ve started using GNOME instead of KDE and have to say that I am most impressed. But just a couple of issues that I am having that I’d like addressing and hopefully fixing. If it helps I am using a Lenovo G50 with OpenSUSE 42.2 and GNOME 3.20

For some reason I’ve not been able to install Extensions. At all. There are a couple that I’ve wanted to try but nothing. All I get on Firefox is:

Attempt to postMessage on disconnected port
and as far as I can understand there is no point in using Chrome to do this.

And the other thing is that double tapping doesn’t seem to work. For example if I want to open a folder on Files I can’t douple tap it open, but have to use Ctrl+O instead. And if I want to highlight an URL on Firefox I can’t with double tapping. Is this something that GNOME has just got rid off or am I missing something?

Hi
Is this a co-existing desktop install, or a fresh gnome only install?

For firefox, is the gnome-shell-browser-plugin package installed in your system?

When you go to GNOME Shell Extensions there are two popups to allow, did you see those? If not in the URL if you type about:addons, do you see it listed, should be set to ask to activate?

For chrome there is https://software.opensuse.org/package/chrome-gnome-shell?search_term=chrome-gnome-shell (only users have it packaged at present).

For double tap, check in System Settings Keyboard and Touchpad, also the Tweak Tool Keyboard and Mouse, for me everything is default and double tap works, check that xf86-input-libinput package is installed as well.

If none of the above work, create a test user and login and see if things start to work as expected.
