Dolphin - Where is the option to rename in popup window and not in line?

I am sure there used to be an option for editing so that renaming a file was not done in line but in a new window.
Please remind me where this option is so that I can change please.
Alastair.

Main Toolbar->Settings->Configure Dolphin->General-> Behaviour-> uncheck “Rename inline”

I must have a very different Dolphin from what you have. I never even thought about this being a configurable option until you posted this. I am on Leap 15.4 but nevertheless you made me curious.

  • I opened Dolphin (very unexpected behavior)
  • I clicked from the menu-bar at the top: Settings (whoever would do that?) and then Configure Dolphin (again obvious or not?)
  • A pop-up window with topics at left, pre-chosen at General (thus not my invention to go for General);
  • At right a few tabs with pre-chosen Behavior (again not my cleverness);
  • There are a few paragraphs there, reading from top to bottom, I find under Miscellanious: a checkbox Rename inline.
  • I did not try to uncheck it and see what are the results, maybe you can tell either if this is the same as in your Tumbleweed, or else why you did not find this (with two clicks in fact)…

Couldn’t see for looking. It was there in plain sight but not in quite the same place as in 15.5.
Thanks for the help. Been at it without stopping all day rebuilding my system. Must be getting tired!
Thanks.
