Dolphin Super User broken

The BUG report may do nothing as it isn’t easily reproducible. For example i have no problems with that but i still wonder what could be wrong on your side that it doesn’t work

I can confirm the same for me
Alt F2 kdesu konqueror works fine,
Dolphin does not

@swissinvestor: open terminal, login (su -) as root an type: xhost +local:0 (source)

I just ran dolphin from kickoff, super user version with no problem. Comes
up asks for root password, and almost instantly so folders, etc. Are you
running Beagle or Strigi? I do not run any indexer, maybe thats your
problem, they slow things down. My system was a clean install from DVD of
RC2 and then update to GM release.

[openSUSE 11.2 (8 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop x86_64] KDE 4.3.3 release 1, Intel
Core 2 Dual E7200, 4 GB DDR III, GeForce 8400 GS, 320GB Disc (2)

Mine also was a clean install with a 11.2 DVD. No beagle enabled & no Strigi.

Only thing I have installed out of the ordinary is Skim/Scim for Japanese input.

yet another solution here, seems a little silly but it works.

that is launch ‘YaST2’ then type root password before launch ‘dolphin super user mode’ in the kickoff menu. This one comes by chance but it really works for me.

p.s.Alt+F2 ‘kdesu konqueror’ works fine too!
