I’ve run into a bit of a problem with Dolphin Places . . .
recently I have uninstalled Dropbox in favour of Mega
Dropbox has been completely removed but it has left behind an empty icon in Places in *Dolphin
*If I manually select to remove the empty icon - as soon as I restart Dolphin the empty icon is back. There doesn’t seem to be any way to remove it.
In addition - Dolphin did not allow the install of Mega to add an icon to Places.
If I add it manually - as soon as I restart Dolphin the Mega icon has been removed.
I’m running KDE 4.14.6 on openSUSE 13.2 if that helps
Thanks in advance for any help.
oh - it seems it is a known bug in KDE 4.14.6
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345174
so this workaround seems to work in the meantime
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345174#c25
Modifying the “Places” panel in dolphin doesn’t work at the moment, see also here:
https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/506164-Can-t-change-KDE-pannel-on-Dolphin?p=2700785#post2700785
This and other problems with the panel should be fixed in dolphin-15.04.1/kdelibs4-4.14.8, which will be released as update for 13.2 too.
I filed an openSUSE bug report here too to make sure of that: http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=930911
As a workaround, open a file open/save dialog and modify the panel there. This will also have effect on dolphin.
