Dolphin is too slow

Hello evreybody :wink:

I’d like to understand why my Dolphin version is so slow. I have the time to open directories or files with konqueror a long time before Dolphin even reacts :open_mouth: . I’m skipping Dolphin and replacing it with Konqueror from Kde3 so far, but it’s not really as convenient as it’s supposed to be.
How come ? Am i not using the right Dolphin or something ?

$ dolphin --version
Qt: 4.4.0
KDE: 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1) “release 31.3”
Dolphin: 1.1

I noticed something strange by the way :
zypper up kde4-dolphin says it 's not installed but zypper se kde4-dolphin says it is , and zypper up dolphin says its not installed (but this is true for dolphin is older than kde4-dolphin) :

zypper up dolphin

Dolphin is very slow for me, too. I keep hoping updates will fix it.

Is is possible that this has something to do with nepomuk? I found that was hogging resources and bringing my system to a crawl. Aren’t they related?

With the Nepomuk semantic desktop enabled, Dolphin becomes so slow it is unusable. Disabling it resolves the slow down.
