Dolphin File Search: Display Path of Files Found

Does anyone know if/how I can make Dolphin display the path of the files that have been found?
Right clicking on each single file is not really an option.
If I switch to Details View and add Path column, that column will then be displayed for any other folder, too, which is not what I want.
I only want to see the Path column when looking at search results.

I assume you’re running Leap? I see PATH in search results with a default Dolphin install, but that is on Tumbleweed.

I can right-click on the “columns” of a search and select a bunch of categories, they are only present then in future searches.

Again, however, that might have been introduced or changed with some Plasma update.

Hmmm. I am running Leap 15.3 and just tried on Leap 15.4beta (Plasma 5.24.2, Dolphin 21.12.3) which should be quite close to Tumbleweed atm.

On both Dolphins (default installation), I start a search. Results are displayed w/o path column. If I add the path (right click on column (select Other > Path), the path is added to the search results.

When I close the search, the path column stays there when browsing through all the other folders. Which doesn’t really make sense, as the path is always the same and already displayed in Dolphin’s navigation bar.

Can you confirm that on Tumbleweed the path column is automatically removed when leaving the search?

Probably you know the setting in Dolphin preferences - General - Behaviour: “Remember display style for each folder”?
I just tried it on Leap 15.3 and then it does exactly what you want. The “downside” is depending on your preferences: It will save changed settings for each folder - as promised. I find this rather irritating preferring some continuity in view styles. So I’m not sure if that’s what you want.

If I right-click and choose a new folder column to show in search results, it is NOT present after I close the search window, no matter where I perform the search from.

It is odd that the column shows up for you and stays. Perhaps you are viewing results in a folder when you do that? I use icon view for folders, whereas search is ‘Details’ or something.
