Hi, on my leap 15.3 if I rightclick on a file the contxtmenu has an >assign tags>create new voice, where can I edit tags to add without any times edit new tag? or at least the already assigned tags should be present.
this assign tags should be an only mouse action, nothing to sedit each time.
how can I have a set of ready tags to use?
Within Dolphin, the left hand Panel – “Places” – in my case at the bottom – “Tags” – Click on “All Tags” or, Right-Click the Tag to be renamed.
- From within “All Tags”, you can with Right-Click delete the tag – which doesn’t delete the associated file(s) …
in my dolphin Version 21.08.3 I cannot see nothing related to tabs in the left (places) panel even if I check show hidden places, the only option is rghtclick on a file>assig tags>create new and an edit field appear and I edited for a file
now I cannot delete this tag, going at file rightclick>properties>details tab>click on tags and something appear, but the deletetion happen only after click on the tab tags in the folder representation to order by tags
is there a way to have a set of tags predefined to apply to files avoiding to edit each time?
Strange – here with a “stock” Leap 15.3, the KDE Plasma Dolphin is version 20.04.2.

The “Tags” entry in the “Places” Panel only appears if at least one Tag was defined – AFAICS, it then remains visible even all the defined Tags have been deleted.
on my other opensuse with stock 15.3 and dolphin version 20.04.2 assigning tags doesn’t works, I assign new tags but it doesnt appear in the tags column even if I order by tags and no tags entry in the left panel even if I show hidden enries
in my dolphin Version 21.08.3 assigning tags works but I have to order by tags to have shown in the tags column and no tags entry in the left panel even if tags are created and present, I cannot delete tags even if I go to rrightclick>properties>details tab>click on tags and delete just created tag, tag remain in the tags column, I have to refresh to disappear the tag in the column
Possibly, “Yet Another Cache Issue” (YACI) –
- Logout from the KDE Plasma session →
- Login via a Virtual Terminal (tty1…6) →
- Clear out the ~/.cache/ directory «possibly, optionally, leave the ~/.cache/mozilla/ directory intact» →
- Logout from the VT session →
- Login to a KDE Plasma session.
