My computer have Windows XP installed and now I want to install suse 9.0.
I insert the boot disk (disk 1) and reboot my machine. Then on the boot option window, I select ‘installation’. Then comes the error:
cannot find SUSE installation CD. Activating Manual….
Then ‘English’–>‘English(US)’–>‘Installation’. Then comes another error:
Cannot mount CD-ROM.
I’m very new to Linux. Any idea please?

Do not try to install SuSE 9.0. It is really old, and very few people on this
list remember that far back.
Please download the Live CD for KDE or Gnome for openSUSE 11.2 and start with
that. The KDE desktop is more like Windows than is Gnome. Once you have the CD,
you can test openSUSE without affecting your Windows installation, then install
when you are ready.
Thats right. with suse 9.0 you will be romping with the dinosaurs. all the programs and documentations are written on papyrus collecting cobwebs
