Doesn't install, gets put into recovery mode

I have tried to install multiple times now and eachtime all the packages install fine but tehn on reboot it says recovery mode, opensuse is not installed as it doesnt show as an option to book in boot options.

Hardware???

motherboard: b450 tomohawk
GPU: amd ryzen 5 2600

Do you have CSM (legacy BIOS/MBR booting) enabled in UEFI BIOS? If yes, you may be failing to install in UEFI mode, but need to. What exactly does booted into recovery mode look like to you? Perhaps you can attach a picture.

I had this exact same issue earlier this morning, I use UEFI for booting. I had to open up the EFI directory using a live disk and remove the opensuse folder, and then reinstall. Once I did this it worked without issue.

I am installing it in UEFI mode

This is Windows bootloader screen.

It does not mean it is not installed. It means your firmware ignores boot manager entry openSUSE created. Boot any Linux live image and post the full output of

lsblk -f -o +partuuid
efibootmgr -v
ls -lR /boot/efi

I have to make 4 separate posts for this because I can only embed one piece of media per post, sorry

lsblk -f -o +partuuid

efibootmgr -v

1/2

2/2

ls -lR /boot/efi

tried this, didn’t work for me.

To the extent I can read this tiny picture, openSUSE boot entry is there as well as Windows one and Windows one is probably listed before openSUSE (I cannot decipher it). You never mentioned you were trying dual boot.

You should be able to boot openSUSE by going into your BIOS boot menu and choosing opensuse-secureboot
