Does the Open Suse 15.6 installer support the update of Leap installations where the /boot/efi partition is encrypted?

I am upgrading from Open Suse 15.5 to 15.6, basically following the same procedure as for a fresh install but choosing update. I do not want to do a network update.

The boot partition on /boot/efi is encrypted.

The Bios boots from the Leap 15.16 ISO on the USB stick straight into the Grub command line.

Typing exit on the Grub command line brings up the grub prompt for the encryption password. I enter the encryption password and the PC boots into Suse 15.5 with no installer options.

Does the Suse 15.6 installer support the update of Leap installations where the /boot/efi partition is encrypted?

If not can I get around the problem by decrypting /boot/efi first?

Is it better to reformat the /boot/efi partition and reinstall Grub? I presume that Grub will then pick up the / partition and prompt for the encryption password.

Partition Map.

That is impossible and it is not encrypted in the screenshot you provided.

That is your actual problem. Start with explaining how you created this USB stick.

After boot from USB drive installer/upgrader asks for passwords to encrypted partitions. If you provide them, then installer can upgrade OS.
