Does OpenSuse 11.0 have SATA Driver support for Intel PCH HM65 SATA Controller ?

I have a motherboard which use Intel HM65 Chipsets. I try to install OpenSuse 11.0 , but failed to detect any HDD when set SATA controller to IDE mode. If set to AHCI mode it can find the Hdd.
Did OpenSuse 11.0 have SATA driver for PCH HM65 SATA Controller IDE mode?

i don’t honestly remember what 11.0 could see, or not, in the way of
SATA controllers

why not try to install a version of openSUSE which is supported?
those today are 11.4 (fetch from <http://software.opensuse.org/114/en>

and 12.1 <http://software.opensuse.org/121/en>

11.0 reached its end of live on July 26th, 2010 (cite
http://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime) but is minimally supported by the
Evergreen project…if you are using their repos to try to keep yours
working you probably will get the best support from their mailing
list…which you can find a link to here: http://tinyurl.com/4aflkpy

on the other hand, if you are not using openSUSE 11.0, but instead have
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) or Server (SLES) version 11, then
the place to ask is over at http://tinyurl.com/422mrnu

on the third hand, if it were mine i would check the board/BIOS maker to
see if there is an updated BIOS, and then install a supported operating
system (like openSUSE 12.1 or SLED/S 11)

And on the fourth hand, do you have a good reason for using your SATA controller in IDE mode? I’ve seen SATA hdds in IDE mode not beeing detected under several Linux and Unix versions.
